I appreciate the courage it takes to "shop" for a therapist that is right for you. Here are some things about me that might be helpful:
I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist serving North San Diego County. My education not only includes my academic learning and training, but also my life experiences. As a mother of two adult children, grandmother, and great grand mother, I bring many years of learning and growing through my own personal life challenges. It is my commitment to myself to always continue to learn and grow through lifes personal experiences that brings depth, compassion and authentic connectedness with each client I have the honor of working with.
I hold a MA from National University in Counseling Psychology, and am licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences in the state of California. I am also a member of California Association of Marriage Family Therapist"
My approach is whole-hearted, compassionate, client-focused - yet no-nonsense. I incorporate a blend of conventional (cognitive/behavioral, emotionally-focused, family systems, object relations, and more) as well as creative modalities that include sand tray and psychodrama. I am experienced with blending 12-step with therapy when treating addiction issues. as well as draw from my own healing recovery path. With sensitivity, trust, and creating a safe enviornment, I am a guide to facilitate hope and healing for each client with whom this journey is shared.
I encourage you to call to set up an appointment for a free 30-minute "Meet & Greet" meeting, as I believe that we intuitively feel a right fit when given the opportunity.
I look forward to sharing your healing path together.
